Decaturoots Greeting Cards Selected as Presenters’ and Performers’ Gift at “2004 Ray Charles Live Tribute Concert”.

Los Angeles, CA; October 18, 2004 -- “We are honored to be a part of a Tribute honoring such a great American musical legend and hero,” says company founder, T.C. Gunter.  “We were contacted and asked by "Backstage Creations" Senior Brand Manager, Richard Lloyd, if we would be interested in having our cards be a part of the Gift Baskets they are producing for the Tribute (held Oct. 8 at the Los Angeles "Staples Center").  Our immediate response was “yes”. 

Growing up in the South and listening to Ray Charles’ “Georgia” was like a national anthem experience and we could not see any better way to pay homage to this extraordinary 'Genius'.  So, we created 65 boxed set greeting cards for the event,” said Gunter.  Each set features: a special, commemorative Ray Charles Card as well as 6 other designs from our “Oluchi” and “Daville” signature lines.

"Grace Beyond Class" is the mantra of Decaturoots.com.  This earthy, ethnic line of original, customized Greeting Cards, Stationary & Fine Art Prints was created to pay homage to Gunter’s hometown of Decatur, Georgia and the vivid imagination it inspired. “The response to the cards has been overwhelming,” says Gunter.  “We just placed our small website up in February of this year, expecting word of mouth to gradually build.  The fact that seven months later it can gain this kind of exposure and attention is not only amazing, but truly divine.  And, we are just that more excited by the possibilities and opportunities to grow Decaturoots across the country and potentially, the world.”

The “2004 Ray Charles Live Tribute” was hosted by Jamie Foxx.  Performers and Presenters who attended and received a Decaturoots Gift Card set included: Jamie Foxx, Usher, Mary J.
